KSBB works with communities to create pocket parks, beautify existing greenspace, prevent and clean up litter, educate about recycling, and provide youth education.

Essentially, we’re talking 3 main areas of focus:

  • Beautification:  This means planting trees and shrubs, creating pocket parks, demolishing eye sores, and contributing to the overall aesthetic to the community.  If you’ve got a project in mind, we’d love to hear about it.
  • Litter prevention (and clean-up):  This takes shape a couple of different ways.  This first is most obvious: by organizing trash pick-ups.  Litter begets more litter, so inorder to prevent litter, we need to clean-up the existing problem.  The second way is through education.  If you are educated about the effects of litter on local and global environments, you are less likely to litter.  Sounds good to me.
  • Waste Management: Essentially, this is creating more opportunities to recycle.  Obviously, the city has a well established recycling program.  Encouraging better usage of this program, as well as opportunities to recycle more builds a more sustainable community.
